Lesson for '92 races: Dare not to be dull
By Chris Foran
How's this for an election campaign event? Decorate a hall with circus banners, and bring in clowns, pitchmen, sideshow booths
and a carnival barker to hawk the show. Follow that with jugglers - dressed as bureaucrats trying to balance budgets - and
magicians trying to make taxpayers' money disappear. In the center ring, dress someone up as the opposing candidate, cracking
a whip over his or her appointed stooges.
